Connect systems to optimize performance and costs

Cloud-based building management systems are not inherently less secure than on-premises solutions and can improve service uptime. Modern cybersecurity is moving away from a "perimeter-bound" approach and toward advanced technical measures for security in cloud environments.1

The challenge many buildings face is securely connecting an entire building from edge to cloud. Connected solutions streamline this IT process with communication protocols designed to help security between site locations, smart gateways and cloud platforms. Systems maintained and updated centrally don't rely on manual updating to stay current with security protocols and password updates. Remote monitoring also enables faster response to potential security issues across all connected sites.

Honeywell connected solutions support assets from a wide variety of vendors and with legacy systems. The platform uses BACnet controller integration to connect both Honeywell and non-Honeywell technology. This multi-vendor compatibility means you don't need to replace existing equipment to gain connectivity and monitoring capabilities. Smart gateways aggregate data from various controllers while enabling secure communication. This approach can help protect your existing investments while adding advanced analytics and remote management.

Connected solutions use ongoing, condition-based automation to help improve energy usage while maintaining occupant experiences. The system continuously monitors building conditions and adjusts HVAC, lighting and other systems based on actual usage patterns and occupancy. Energy and carbon management tools help track Scope 1 and 2 emissions data while providing guidance on optimization opportunities. The platform balances efficiency objectives with comfort requirements, making adjustments that help reduce consumption without impacting the quality of the indoor environment.
