Protect facilities with unified video surveillance

Camera selection depends on each facility’s environment and monitoring requirements. Indoor spaces use dome or bullet cameras with AI analytics for occupancy and behavior monitoring. Outdoor perimeters need weatherproof cameras with extended IR range and thermal imaging for 24/7 coverage. Other features to consider include:

• License plate recognition cameras for vehicle entry points•

Thermal cameras for perimeter detection in darkness

• Pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras for large area coverage with operator control

• Multi-imager panoramic cameras for wider fields of view

Installation requirements vary by camera type but typically use Power over Ethernet (PoE) for power and data over standard network cabling.

AI analytics can filter video to highlight events requiring attention, helping reduce the hours security teams must spend reviewing footage. The systems can learn baseline patterns over time to improve detection accuracy, with features that include:

• Automated alerts for specific behaviors or zones

• Object classification that can distinguish people from vehicles

• Heat mapping to identify high-traffic areas and bottlenecks

• Integration with access control systems for identity correlation

Analytics run directly on cameras or on recording systems depending on deployment architecture. Organizations can also configure rules based on time of day, specific zones or event types to match individual facilities’ security policies.
