Design, orchestrate and manage resilient microgrids with advanced controls, turnkey BESS integration and software.
Grid instability disrupts operations. In the event of a power failure, production stops.
Honeywell energy solutions are designed to connect grid-scale infrastructure and site-level energy systems through advanced software, enabling resilient microgrids and coordinating distributed energy resources through virtual power plants. We deliver an integrated approach that help sites to operate independently, enhance on-site generation and storage and interact with the grid as needed.
Honeywell's microgrid controls utilize ControlEdge RTU and ControlEdge PLC technology to support power reliability during grid disruptions. Our turnkey solution is designated to integrate battery storage (BESS), advanced controllers and intelligent software to respond to changing conditions and support transitions between grid-connected and islanded modes.

Honeywell's microgrid solutions support remote configuration, firmware updates and near real-time monitoring through proven ControlEdge controllers. These systems enable operators to track performance, adjust settings and diagnose issues without on-site visits. The controllers connect with SCADA systems to provide visibility into voltage, frequency and load conditions, helping maintenance teams identify potential issues before they lead to disruptions.
Advanced controls add capabilities like islanding, localized optimization and improved outage resilience. Even if the primary grid goes down, critical services can keep running smoothly, reducing disruptions even when problems manifest.
Honeywell's microgrid solutions work with solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), diesel generators and other DERs. They can integrate with third-party systems, supporting hybrid portfolios through interoperable communication protocols. This enables coordinated control across diverse DERs for improved grid support and operational resilience.
Microgrids facilitate long-term operational planning by helping transition from reactive maintenance to proactive, strategic management.
Integrating renewable energy sources like solar with battery energy storage systems can create resilient grids that allow continuous operations during outages helping enable organizations to work towards long-term emissions and environmental goals.
At the same time, our microgrid solutions enable techniques like peak shaving and optimized consumption to reduce long-term operational costs. Predictive maintenance, digital twins and other advanced digitalization capabilities allow you to simulate and test configurations before you implement them.
