Honeywell submeters help you track, allocate and reduce energy consumption across your entire building portfolio.
Honeywell submeters help you track, allocate and reduce energy consumption across your entire building portfolio.
Traditional utility bills don't give you the granular data you need to identify inefficiencies, allocate costs fairly, or drive behavioral change. Honeywell's submetering system delivers precise, near real-time energy insights that help you monitor consumption by area, department or equipment—giving you the visibility to cut waste and create accountability.
Honeywell has guaranteed $9.5 billion in energy and operational cost savings through more than 3,400 projects for customers around the world.
The U.S. Department of Energy estimates facilities can achieve up to 20% energy savings when building managers monitor usage through submetering devices,3 supporting cost reduction and efficiency goals.
E-Mon Class 6200 meters include integrated crypto-chip technology4 for enhanced cybersecurity, protecting energy data and billing information from unauthorized access.
Revenue-grade accuracy helps establish transparent tenant billing and cost allocation. E-Mon submeters that meet or exceed ANSI standards for billing are designed to provide this level of precision, helping you create defensible billing that stands up to scrutiny from tenants, auditors and regulatory bodies. Higher accuracy also supports better decision-making—even small measurement errors can compound over time and across multiple meters, resulting in significant discrepancies in cost allocation or missed opportunities for efficiency improvements.
Honeywell’s metering portfolio extends beyond electricity to include natural gas, propane, hot water, and cold water. This comprehensive approach lets you monitor major utilities from a single platform, giving you visibility into resource consumption across your facility. Gas pulse meters can track natural gas, propane and other gases for applications ranging from building heating to industrial processes. Our hot water and cold water meters integrate with interval data recorders and communicate via standard protocols to your energy management system.
By submetering multiple utilities, you can conduct cross-utility analysis that reveals relationships between different resource types—for example, understanding how heating system efficiency impacts both gas and electricity consumption. This holistic view supports more sophisticated optimization strategies.
E-Mon meters are designed to integrate with building management systems through industry-standard protocols including BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks and EZ7. Our smart meters offer both RS485 and IP connectivity options, giving you flexibility in how you connect to your existing infrastructure. The integration brings energy data directly into your BMS alongside HVAC, lighting and other operational data, so you can correlate energy consumption with equipment performance and occupancy patterns. E-Mon Energy software can also serve as a standalone energy monitoring system or work in parallel with your BMS to provide specialized energy analysis capabilities.
