UOP’s Merox™ process technology extracts or converts low molecular weight mercaptans from refinery product streams using a regenerable caustic solution. The Merox portfolio includes technologies that will treat gas, LPG, naphtha, kerosene and jet fuel to meet finished product specifications. UOP has designed and commissioned more than 1,800 Merox process units and these technologies are available for modular delivery. The Merox™ process technology services include research, development, evaluation, market and economic studies, consultation, design, engineering and technical services in connection with a desulfurization process.
