HISIV Adsorbents 

Aware of the need for stricter emission controls, UOP developed HISIV Adsorbents. This family of molecular sieve adsorbents is specially designed to be effective in high-humidity air vent streams common in emission control applications.

Abscents Powders:

• Exhibit a strong selectivity for organic odor-causing compounds while excluding water vapor 
• Attract odors and traps them tightly within its porous structure – effectively removing odors from their surroundings instead of simply masking them with fragrances
• Maintain its odor removal capability in high humidity or in the presence of liquid water, unlike conventional molecular sieves

HISIV Adsorbents:

• Are composed of uniform pores that can select molecules by size
• Remove volatile organic compounds from moisture-laden process streams
  • They have a high surface area and can adsorb a variety of volatile organic compounds, such as alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, esters, aliphatics, aromatics and chlorinate hydrocarbons.  In air, these compounds contribute to ground-level ozone and are hazardous to health.
• Are organophilic and hydrophobic, unlike standard molecular sieves which are naturally hydrophilic
• Remove trace volatile organic compounds from air streams
  • They do not readily adsorb water but have a highly effective in adsorbent volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) from air—even at relative humidities that approach complete saturation. This adsorption characteristic, together with excellent thermal, chemical and oxidative stability, help make UOP’s HISIV high silica zeolites the answer to air emission control regulations.
