Streamlined solutions for offshore gas processing

Offshore gas processing feasibility depends on the interplay between reservoir characteristics, environmental constraints and economic factors.

Water depth will dictate platform type and installation costs, while feed gas composition determines required treating technologies and complexity. Distance from existing infrastructure influences whether pipeline export or floating LNG makes economic sense. Field size and production profile determine whether capital investment can be recovered over the field lifetime.

Integrating offshore gas processing systems involves balancing multiple competing constraints that don't exist onshore. Platform space is finite and must accommodate drilling, production, living quarters and safety systems alongside gas processing. Structural load limits on floating vessels restrict equipment weight. Power availability determines what can (and cannot) operate simultaneously.

Vessel motion requires stabilized designs that maintain performance despite constant movement. And limited maintenance access and high offshore modification costs drive integration decisions.

Honeywell UOP helps address these challenges with compact, lightweight gas processing systems deployed in offshore environments worldwide.

Offshore platforms face strict limits on power availability, cooling capacity and structural loads. Honeywell UOP gas processing solutions can help operators improve energy efficiency within those constraints.

• UOP MOLSIV UI-900 adsorbent offers more capacity than standard sieves, helping reduce energy demand.
• Membrane systems can reduce solvent heating and cooling loads through chemical-free separation.
• Compact, modular designs can reduce weight while increasing power allocation and heat recovery.
